So everytime we travel we only concerned about one number that is PNR.

What is a PNR ?

PNR stands for Passenger Name Record, it's an entry in Database of Computer Reservation System (CSR).

It was first introduced by the Airlines, that needed to exchange reservation information in case passengers is required flights of different airlines to reach their destination.

GDS or Global Distribution System

    As name suggest it provides or enables automated transactions between Airline Booking Agents, Several Third Parties in order to provide Travel related information like Ticket arability, Status, itinerary information.

Travel Agents are the Primary Customer of GDS, they use GDS to make Reservations on various reservation systems run by Vendors.

Some key points of GDS

1. GDS is not a Computer Reservation System
2. It holds has Inventory,  rather Vendor's inventory System is used.
